Ninja Honey Bees is pleased to announce two new products have been added to our list of products. We now have a Cucumber Mint Jam and a Cucumber Relish. Both of these products will allow you to enjoy the task of summer cucumbers through the winter. Stop by the Newtown Farmers Market and pick up some starting Saturday, August 6.
Cucumber Mint Jam:
Cucumber mint jam is a fun, tasty, and unusual way to enjoy our abundant cucumber and mint harvest. Admittedly it sounds weird, but it is a very sweet jam. It is a jam, however; that would:
- put on cheese and crackers
- be delightful to mixed in with some plain yogurt for a sweet and filling lunch or snack
- make an wonderful sandwich with goat cheese and/or turkey
- be amazing in this vinaigrette recipe (just replace the strawberry jam with our cucumber mint jam)
- pair with lamb chops or salmon
You could a spoonful of cucumber mint jam, some tonic water and good gin or vodka for an amazing cocktail. Zap the jam for a few seconds in the microwave, add the alcohol, ice and stir in the tonic.
Cucumber Relish:
This sweet and tangy cucumber relish is made with cucumbers, peppers, onions, sweetened with brown sugar, and flavored with an apple cider vinegar brine infused with pickling spices. This chunky relish would be amazing on a burger or hot dog. You can also enjoy it mixed into a tuna or chicken salad, potato salad, macaroni salads, or egg salad for a crunchy and zesty flavor. This is based on a tested safe canning recipe from the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving, with a Ninja Honey Bee Twist.
The main secret weapon of a cucumber is the high fiber content, which contributes to the effective cleaning of the body of accumulated toxins. It also helps to get rid of cholesterol residues, which usually provokes serious diseases of the circulatory system. Another advantage of a cucumber is the general rejuvenation of the body that occurs at the cellular level, which is why cucumbers have become a main component of various cosmetic trying to enrich the skin with moisture.
